Disability is not like cancer. You can't get to the other side.
As a preson with a disability, I understand that this is an important aspect of life. Like Paul in the Bible, I have elarned to lean on Christ everyday to face some challenges that will never get easier. However, that isn't a life sentence, but a facet of who I am. I would have missed many wonderful encounters and friendships had it not been for someone's interest or care that was prompted by the body I am in.

Connection Blog 091411
September 14, 2011
I am tweeting, Facebooking and blogging. I’m doing it because the social media experts tell me it’s the way I need to start connecting if I want to connect with people into the next decade. And I really want to connect with people. With all my heart I do. In fact, I want to be part of their Spiritual journey: walk along beside them, share their struggles of faith, their hopes for a better future in Christ, and their exploration of His amazing love.
I’m very fortunate – my job is right in the middle of all of this at First Baptist Church!
Sometimes we connect in a Sunday School class, other times in a living room, or around a table on Wednesday night. Sometimes we connect over food (OK, a LOT of times we connect over food!) and often over a great cup of coffee. As I listen for God’s voice in our connection and discipleship ministry, I also want to listen to you about what He is doing in your life. So, here’s my question: How does connection happen for you?
